1912 President William Howard Taft Presidential Campaign / Visit Collar Box For Sale

This outstanding Presidential Visit Gift measures approx. 1 1/2" tall and 4 1/4" in diameter at the top. It is a circular, paperboard box with a removable lid. The top surface of the lid features a rather heavy, cast composition medallion finished in a gold colored surface paint. The Medallion features a very attractive, bust portrait of President Taft with text above that reads "Akron Chamber of Commerce and text below that reads "Guest of Honor". Text to the left of the portrait reads "William Howard Taft" and text to the right reads "January XXXI, MCMXII" (the date of taft's visit to the Chamber of Commerce meeting).

This rare and very attractive, 1912 William Howard Taft Collar Box is in excellent condition. The paperboard Box is sound and intact with the only wear being some staining to the bottom surface. The cast composition lid is intact and very well preserved with no damage or repairs to the surface and with the original, gold gilt surface paint being very well preserved with only some tiny surface blemishes.
