Lot includes 1914/15 Star, British War Medal, Victory Medal, photocopy of his medal card and Silver War Badge roll. His full entitlement is on offer here. He entered France on the 30.05.1915. He had enlisted on the 02.09.1914 and was discharged due to wounds on the 21.08.1918, he was 22 years old. Name and number correctly impressed on all medals.

Information

The 1914-15 Star (Pip) was awarded to those who served in a theatre of war between 5.8.1914 and 31.12.1915, except those who had already qualified for a 1914 Star. The British War Medal (Squeak) was originally issued to all who had rendered service between 1914-1918, later this was extended to include 1919-1920 (mine clearing and operations in Russia). The Victory medal (\"Wilfred\") follows a design agreed upon at Versailles in 1919. The medal is in lacquered bronze and shows a winged victory holding a palm branch.
