1914 Star & Bar Medal Trio – 6th Dragoon Guards For Sale
You are offerding on a 1914 Star & Bar Medal Trio awarded to a Private in the 6th Dragoon Guards. The pieces are named:-
1914 Star – 5058 PTE J.W.DUNCAN. 6/D.GDS.
British War Medal – 5058 PTE. J.W.DUNCAN. 6-D.GDS.
Victory Medal – 5058 PTE. J.W.DUNCAN. 6-D.GDS.
Private John W Duncan served in France with the 6th Dragoon Guards from the 16th August 1914. The award of the Clasp to his 1914 Star is noted on the 1914 Star Medal Roll (copy supplied, as well as Medal Index Card), although the bar on the ribbon is a contemporary ‘slider’ piece. Duncan would transfer to the Royal Engineers (No.107436) on the 30th August 1915. His address is later noted to be 18, Townend Street, Kirkstall Road, Leeds.
The medals are in excellent toned condition, on somewhat tired original silk ribbons.
Payment is to be made by Cheque or Paypal (both £GB). For multiple purchases shipping costs will be reduced if shipped together (please await your invoice). With regard to shipping prices and policy, all my lots will be despatched bubblewrapped and bagged in a new jiffy bag (or box if appropriate) to reach you in the same condition it left me, and will be tracked (and signed for). On that note, Royal Mail have also recently put up their prices, and I'm afraid I have had to do likewise - the past few weeks I have been losing a fair bit of money due to the price-hikes. If you have any doubts over the cost, just look at the shipping cost when you receive your medals, just to prove you are not being diddled by me! Sorry, but I will not ship to the African continent due to a number of postal 'mishaps' over the years, and I don't accept offers or end sales early.
Many thanks for your interest and good luck if you offer.
