1915 Levi Strauss Koveralls Overalls Toy Paper Doll Ad Advertising Trade Leaflet:
Check out my other sales for more stuff purchased from the estate of an old drag car mechanic and hotrodder who had real good taste when it came to under-the-hood for his own personal cars. Rest in peace, George, your great stuff did not go to the landfill. If you win more than one catalog, wait to pay till I send you an invoice with actual shipping for everything packed into one package.
This Levi Strauss & Co. Koveralls advertising piece from The May Company of Denver, Colorado, includes paper dolls that could be cut out while the lower section was to be saved by mothers because “it shows the different fabrics,” which came in heavy weight, light weight, and heavy denim. In 1915 Koveralls were “awarded the Grand Prize at the Panama-Pacific Exposition,” so this piece dates from at least then or a bit later.
Koveralls “Keep Kids Klean” and it’s “the suit that stands in a class by itself, for convenience, style, and long wear. The ideal garment for every day wear the year ‘round, for boy or girl, 1 to 8 years of age.”
Piece measures 8 ¾ by 9 7/8 inches and folds down to about 3 by 5 inches. Paper condition is quite good with NO holes, fold wear, tears, stains, or smell.
