1915 Radio Electric Specialty Co. Resco Navy-type Loose Coupler * Chicago :
Make sure to check out all of my sales after you've looked at this one. I'm listing an eclectic assortment of hard-to-find technological, musical and mechanical antiques, and I suspect there will be something of interest to almost everyone.
Here's a 1915 RESCO loose coupler/long wave receiving transformer manufactured by the Radio Electric Specialty Co. of Chicago. The apparatus is in excellent original condition throughout. Housing is constructed of 3 hard rubber panels (they may be gutta percha -- it's hard to tell) on the front, back and top, and 2 mahogany panels on the sides. There's some fading evident on the portion of the green wire sheathing that's been exposed to the sun and elements, but the wire itself is in excellent condition and is still tightly wound on the form. Rubber-sheated wiring on the underside of the base is original, and the graduated rule on the top of the base, which at first I thought had been tacked there by an earlier owner, might actually have been supplied with the device. In fact, I'm surprised that nobody ever thought of doing this before. It makes so much sense, yet I can't recall having ever seen it on any other loose coupler. The finish on the board is original and it's beautiful, as you can see in the pics.Measures approximately 19" long by 8" deep by 5" high. Shipping weight, properly packed, will be about 8 or 9 lb.That's about it. Iwill package the set carefully and properly, and Ican assure you thatit willshow upat your doorstepin the samefine condition in which it leaves mine.
