1920's-30's MOBIL PEGASUS "Flying Red Horse" Porcelain Pump Plate Sign Service/ Filling Sign Measures 18" by 9 1/2"

This is an Extermely Rare Piece of Oil & Gas Memorabilia. Standard Oil Corporationof New Yorkstarted putting the "Pegasus" on their products in 1911, the horse was white in color at the beginning. Mobil adopted the "Pegasus" as a Trademark in 1931 when it became Mobil after merging with Socony-Vacuum (Standard Oil Company of New York).

A major changeover was done in the 1930's and it was given acleaner more graphic appearance. The " Flying Red Horse " now flew from left to right as opposed to from right to left.

Condition is great, a couple of small porcelain pops,colors are vibrant.

I am sorry for the confusion you are correct the pump plate did come from late 1950's and 1960's. I guarantee this pump plate to be 100% original & authenic, I removed it from the old farm gas pump myself. I was referring to the "Pegasus" itself changing directions, by all reasoning it should be flying in the other direction, it is an extremely hard piece to find.
