1920s Brunswick Tires 20x60 Painted Metal Advertising Sign - Garage, Gas Station For Sale

1920s Brunswick Tires 20x60 Painted Metal Advertising Sign - Garage, Gas Station

Greetings from New Mexico !!!

This is a pretty cool sign. I got this from an antique sale here in Albuquerque maybe 15 years ago. A family with roots in Pennsylvania would do their "picker" jobs there, fill up a barn, and haul a Semi-truck load to Albuquerque twice a year to sale it off. In the meantime, I had an RCA Radiola - Brunswick side/by/side 1924 radio/Brunswick Phono. (before AC radios & wall sockets, and before electricly-driven phono turntable motors). So, it was an electrical/mechanical/accoustical piece of furniture and I had heard quite a few wind-up-accoustical phonographs, but the Brunswick that RCA partnered up with (Before they partnered with Victor) was absolutely the best sounding (wind-up) phonograph I'd ever heard, and even to this day too - a inside the cabinet wooden (spruce) speaker-horn, and the particular reproducer-head really made the accoustics come to life ! - I was really taken with Brunswick. I bought a book on the history of the company where they made huge fancy bars (1870's - 90s?), then pool tables, and everything else, and even went into space with some of their products. We never see any "Brunswick Tires" stuff around here in New Mexico, and I fell in love with that sign. I have another 1930 Brunswick Radio (model 15) that was right up there at the high end. The speaker needed to be reconed, and so I went to Tandy leather and got some deer hide, so it could be the same as original, and I did a pretty good job too ! - Anyway, Brunswick is one of the sleepers as far as lots of collectibles go, and the advertising thereof, and over the years, looking on , etc, I've never seen another sign like this. (Of course, if I lived in New Jersey, maybe there would be Brunswick stuff all over the place, but they were more a higher than middle end mfg'r, so maybe not so common. I can only speculate but never be sure. So there you have a story to go with the sign and so now its worth 5 times more {grinning}, but I'm still opening the offerding under $100.One very cool thing I like about New Mexico is the dry climate that hardly rusts anything, even after many years, but, still, I've kept this sign inside the house all these past 15 years, or so, in a spare bedroom, standing on end. Hardly takes any room, compared to my other treasures..I don't know what else to say but please ask questions, as you like.

I have collected antique radios for about 22 years now, and have always to specialize in variety so that it included not just all kinds of radios, but lamps, telephones, and other gadgets but now I need to specialize in cash.

Below: All numbers 62" wide including left and right 1" each end tabs.
~ 22" tall, including top & bottom 1" each end tabs Weight: ~ 13 pounds.I am sure I can package for its best safe journey with another 7 pounds of dunnage. Will have to make a special custom box,
And it will not be over 20 pounds, but maybe as little as 16 or 17 pounds - Will have to see what it comes to. I strive to do the best packing job with the least weight, and when I am finally done and take to ship, I will know exactly what it cost and refund you the difference if you paid more than actual cost.
Thanks very much for visiting my sale item is sold AS-IS & AS-DESCRIBED- NO RETURNS -The pictures are an important part of the description, please study them carefully.
(I'm trying to save our home by selling off my radio/collectibles collection(s).
(When the money comes in it goes to my war-chest account to battle the bank with),
So that is why my return policy must be "No Returns".
Thanks.
Now, there can be an exception to that "no return" policy if I am at fault for missing an important problem,
But that's very rare - I do like to pay attention when my customer's trust is involved.Terms Of Sale: Lucky Winner gets to pre-pay for item plus shipping.
Payment is Expected via PayPal only; within 3 days of sale close.IF you are in a hurry for it, please let me know, i'll give it special attention - thanks)I do not charge a handling fee, or for packaging materials and I carefully package items I sell as I would want them packaged, if I were the buyer.
So, I always issue refunds for shipping over-estimates, supply all shipping materials, pack really well, & insure at my cost.I do not "game" any part of the shipping.I am the best packager on ! Insurance will be provided on my end and at my cost - so it will be insured at no extra cost to buyer.I ship only via USPS. ►N☼TE:► I am making an exception to this rule as USPS quote $64 if I ship to me, & UPS is $26 if I ship to me.
(The reason I would prefer USPS is that FedEX and UPS both members of ALEC have all been beyond just dreaming of killing off the Post Office, but actually working to sabotage it, thru ALEC members in Congress, USPS Is forced to fund their pensions at the 90% level for 75 years into the future, and only have 10 years to be in compliance. (It started with the 2006 lame duck culture of corruption congress). Ok, let me stop here. Just that I am making an exception for this sign and will ship via UPS if that is important to you. (and how could it not be with those economics involved?)This beautiful but humble sign will be very well packaged so that it arrives safely to its new home,
and shipped within 3 business days upon receipt of Pay Pal payment.
after shipping, will update your "my " with details and ............Thanks again for looking !& Special Thanks for offerding !
