Great Old Shoe Shine Sign!
Here is a great old shoe shine sign that I recently picked up. The sign is made of embossed tin, measures 11 1/2" by 23" and was Made in U.S.A. STOUT SIGN CO., St Louis. This sign was found in an old farm house in Illinois and I have made no further attempts to clean it up, but I think you can put a "Dyanshine" on it! There are some extra holes, paint loss, bends, dings, dangs, and everything else that you would expect to find on a tin sing that was used as patch material for the last 90+ years. PLEASE take a good look at my photo for the BEST description.
Here is some interesting history on Mr. Barton's Dyanshine:
The "Dyan-Shine" shoe & leather polish was invented by Warren Douglas Barton during World War I. Barton started the Dyan Shine Shoe Polish Manufacturing Company, and manufactured his shoe polish in Waco, Texas beginning in the year 1919. Later on, Barton moved the business to St. Louis, Missouri in the year 1927. This product is still currently sold. This shoe polish contained vegetable, animal, and mineral waxes, denatured ethanol and isopropanol, aniline derivatives, and oil of turpentine.
I will pack this up tight, insure it, and put delivery confirmation on the sign: All for $15.00. Any Questions? Please Ask! Thanks for looking-
