1920's~herman H. Heiser 1351~leather Shotgun Chaps W/fringe, Conchos & Pockets~ For Sale
This sale is for a pair of rare western antique shotgun chaps with conchos, fringe and pockets with flaps made by Herman H. Heiser in Denver, Co. in the 1920's era and marked on the belt: 1351. These classic decorative full leather chaps are still fully functional, supple with no brittle parts from drying out,and have great character and overall are still in good or better condition. They seem to have been well maintained most of their life as it appears they have been conditioned in the past. There are a few things to note that reveal the wear and tear these have seen. There is a tear above the left pocket that has been roughly tied back together with a rawhide strip, the pockets are missing the buttons, there is a tear at the top of the left rear leg (buttocks area)and the left leg also has a hole on the hip area and behind the left knee, and there is 1 concho missing along withthe top few inches of the white leather strip that held it on at the top of the right side and there are a few of the fringe strips missing. Most of these flaws can easily be repaired if desired and I would suggest a professional leather worker if further preservation is desired. The total length is 36" and the belt length is also 36" and the total weight is 5 lbs. 6 ozs.
