1921 Ferdinand Strauss Jazzbo Jim Dancer on the Roof In Box! Excellent Working! Great strong litho and working tin wind up toy Jazzbo Jim the Dancer on the Roof by Strauss c.1921. Tap dancing man works great and dances with his fiddle perfectly. Nice action and fine working toy with bright unfaded litho. Many racial stereotypes on the litho around the building base with watermelons, uncle Tom, etc. The box is missing one side but has the original bottom box. From a historical period of time when racist toys were a common part of the culture. There were many versions of the popular Jigger toys by many manufacturers including Lehmann, Strauss, Marx, Unique Art etc. The toy is ~9 1/2 inches tall and is in escellent working condition.
