1924 Ppc Siam Thailand King Vajiravudh During His Trip To Penang Number 25 For Sale
King Vajiravudh was especially interested in social and cultural matters. He was responsible for such social reforms in Siam as the adoption of the Gregorian calender, the introduction of free primary schooling and compulsory vaccination. During his trip to Singapore in 1924, he paid special interest to social and cultural institutions. Among other things, he looked at the public health system, the military and the arts and culture. During his visit King Vajiravudh went to see an outdoor entertainment at the Happy Valley, a dance party at the Victoria Memorial Hall, and the play "Dandy Dick".
His Majesty King Vajiravudh visited Singapore from 25 28 Sept 1924. He was met by Sir Laurence Guillemard, the Governor of the Straits Settlements.Police officers and civilians waiting to welcome the King in Singapore on 25 Sept 1924.
