1926 Edition Winnie The Pooh First Year Edition Antique Childrens Book With D/j For Sale
Winnie-The-Pooh by A.A. Milne with Decorations by Ernest H. Shepard. Published by E.P. Dutton in 1926. The first edition of this book was in October 1926 and the copyright page of this book says 39th edition November, 1926. That means this was the 39th printing, obviously not the 39th edition. This is a hardcover book with its original dust jacket and measures about 8 x 6 with 158 pages. The book is in LIKE NEW- condition. The green cover has almost no wear, the binding is tight and the pages are clean. There are two very minor defects: 1. There is a small tear near the spine on the page before the title page. 2. The bottom right corner of the front cover is slightly bumped. There is also a small bookstore sticker inside the back cover. It's rare to find this book with the dust jacket and it is in ACCEPTABLE condition with wear, dirt, and tears.
From Wikipedia - "Winnie-the-Pooh, also called Pooh Bear, is a fictional anthropomorphic bear created by A. A. Milne. The first collection of stories about the character was the book Winnie-the-Pooh (1926), and this was followed by The House at Pooh Corner (1928). Milne also included a poem about the bear in the children’s verse book When We Were Very Young (1924) and many more in Now We Are Six (1927). All four volumes were illustrated by E. H. Shepard. The hyphens in the character's name were later dropped when The Walt Disney Company adapted the Pooh stories into a series of Disney features that became one of its most successful franchises".
