It has GREAT display and detailed local coverage of the PARADE held in BROKLYN, NY to honor CHARLES LINDBERGH after his triumphant return from his historic first SOLO FLIGHT in an airplane from North America to Europe (NY to France)

This is a great item for a collector of BROOKLYN memorabilia.

Charles Augustus Lindbergh (February 4, 1902 – August 26, 1974), nicknamed Slim, Lucky Lindy, and The Lone Eagle, was an American aviator, author, inventor, explorer, and social activist.

As a 25-year-old U.S. Air Mail pilot, Lindbergh emerged suddenly from virtual obscurity to instantaneous world fame as the result of his Orteig Prize-winning solo non-stop flight on May 20–21, 1927, made from Roosevelt Field in Garden City on New York\'s Long Island to Le Bourget Field in Paris, France, a distance of nearly 3,600 statute miles (5,800km), in the single-seat, single-engine purpose-built Ryan monoplane Spirit of St. Louis. As a result of this flight Lindbergh was the first person in history to be in New York one day and Paris the next. Lindbergh, a U.S. Army Air Corps Reserve officer, was also awarded the nation\'s highest military decoration, the Medal of Honor, for his historic exploit.

On June 13, 1927, a ticker-tape parade was held for him down 5th Avenue in New York City. The following night Capt. Lindbergh was honored with a grand banquet at the Hotel Commodore given by the Mayor\'s Committee on Receptions of the City of New York and attended by some 3,700 people. He was officially awarded the check for the prize on June 16th. On June 16 Lindbergh was also honored in a parade through the streets ofBROOKLY, NY between 11am and 3pm EST. The massive publicity surrounding him and his flight boosted the aviation industry and made a skeptical public take air travel seriously as Lindbergh became an important voice on behalf of aviation activities, including the central committee of the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics (NACA), an appointment made by President Herbert Hoover. Within a year of his flight, a quarter of Americans (an estimated thirty million) personally saw Lindbergh and the Spirit of St. Louis.
