Indicating that the design for this coin was prepared by engraver Aurelio Mistruzzi of the Vatican;
And the dies were cut by Attilio Motti, chief engraver of the Italian Government Mint at Rome.
1929 was the first year of minting coins officially of the Vatican City State;
as recognized by the signing of the Lateran Treaty, Feb. 11, 1929,
between the Vatican and the Kingdom of Italy;
which recognized the independence and sovereignty of the State of the Vatican City.
Only 10,000 pieces of each denomination were minted.
