1930s, Original, Pre-war Elgin Balloon Tire Bicycle - Men's:
This is a nice riding, pre-war Elgin boys balloon tire bike from the early 1930s. Has great looking "patina" with the original pin stripping and paint markings. It takes years to get a look like this! The bike features Torrington crossbar handlebars, finned Musselman coaster brake, a recovered seat, and the biggest glass reflectors I've ever seen on a bike. There's an old generator that may (or may not) work -- I haven't tried. A mysterious mounting bracket mounted on the seat tube served an unknown purpose. The kickstand works well, the tires are rideable, new vintage looking hand grips and skip tooth chain in good condition. The bike has some rust -- the bottom part of the front fender has corroded away and the paint is peeling on the rims.
