1930's Cape Porpoise Cape Grill Restaurant Moxie Cluff For Sale
Up forsale isa 4 x 6" photo that has been produced frommy original old negatives of Meade View Company postcards, a company that sold real photo postcards of numerous Maine towns and views in the 1920's, 1930's, and early 1940's. What you see is exactly what the postcard looked like, only better, sincewe cleaned up the negative, sharpened the image, and printed it from a .tif file, with glossy format onquality photo paper. The back of the photo is blank.
This view is ofthe Cape Grill in Cape Porpoise, Maine, before it became theCaptain's Restaurant, which is still in operation. Great sign above the front door, advertising potato chips, candies, cigars, homemade ice cream and tonics. The sign at the right side reads "Breakfast Served, Steak & Chops, Fried Clams, Lobster Stew, Clam Chowder, Home Bakery."To the left you can see the D.F. Cluff store, selling cigars and tobacco, with abig Moxie sign on the side of the building. In the upper right, in back of the Cape Grill,is the post office. Excellent condition, very sharp and clear, great 1930's scene, perfect for framing!
