1932 Vintage Photo by ACME. When the Democratic Candidate for United States President arrived at the Oregon State Line he was met by a delegation of leaders of Californiademocracy. Left to Right: Maurice Harrison, Franklin D. Roosevelt, William G. McAdooand Justus Wardell. They accompanied Roosevelt to SanFrancisco, California. William Gibbs McAdoo Jr. was an American lawyer and statesman. McAdoo was a leader of the Progressive movement and played a major role in the administration of President Woodrow Wilson. A member of the Democratic Party, he also represented California in the United States Senate. Franklin Delano Roosevelt, often referred to by his initials FDR, was an American statesman and political leader who served as the 32nd President of the United States from 1933 until his death in 1945.
