A 1936 SOLID STERLING SILVERHOLY COMMUNION SET

Consisting of a Chalice, Plate and an Ewer, contained within its original purpose made travelling / storage / presentation case that is satin and velvet lined.

All three items are the original matching set and are all hallmarked for the maker James Dixon of Son, Sheffield 1936.

Internally, the box lid carries the label for the retailing Jeweller "Henry Pidduck & Sons, 175 & 177 Lord Street Southport". The box clasps are secure and snap shut making the casepractical for modern day use.

The Ewer lid screws down to seal and still possess its cork seal disc in the cap.

All in all in very good condition without any deformation, dings or abrasions. The satin within the box is starting to bear age spots and there is a seepage stain (faded red wine) just where the lid meets the cap of the Ewer when closed.

The 3 solid sterling items weighapproximately 120grammes.

The case and contents weigh366 grammes in total.

The Chalice stands 74mm tall, the cup is 39mm in diameter and the pedestal base 37mm in diameter.

The Plate is 66mm in diameter, the pedestal base is 32mm in diameter and stands 22mm high.

The Ewer is 108mm tall to the top of the crucifix and the pedestal base is I'm in diameter.
