1936/58 German Tinplate "arnold" Clockwork Motorcycle & Rider Very Good Plus:
This is a tinplate toy motorcycle & rider manufactured by the German toy company "Arnold", between the years 1936 and 1958.
The toy measures approximately 7.25" in length x 5" tall x 2.75" wide. The motorcycle is clockwork driven and the clockwork mechanism is in "Very Good" working order. Further, when wound the serrated wheel situated within the lamp can be seen to rotate and the bracket for fixing a flint is still in place. Please note that the headlamp lens is missing.
Regarding condition, both the motorcycle & rider have various signs of play wear ( fine scratch marks and "rubbing" in parts- please examine all photos carefully ). There is also very light rusting on the rear pannier, the headlamp surround and rider's silver footrest. Light rusting ( nothing serious ) can also be seen inside the motorcycle itself. Nonetheless, in spite of these observations, I would stilldescribe the overall condition of the toy as being "Very Good plus" ( approx. 7.5/10 ). What is amazing, given the age of the toy, is the brightness that the colours have retained on much of the paintwork.
Please examine all photos carefully and regard them as part of the description for the gun and holster. Please email me with any questions you may have.
