1937 Art Deco Bakelite Telechron 24-hour, Illuminated Alarm Clock Model Cf705 For SaleUp for sale is this swell deco bakelite alarm clock. Model CF705, "Superlarm" The case is 5 inches wide. 5 5/16 inches high. 3 1/2 inches deep. Sold for $6.95 in 1937. The signal window underneath the 12 in the dial will show red if the clock loses power. The movement is very different from your average alarm clock. The dial is marked for 24-hours so you don't have to re-arm the alarm at night. How do you turn it off? Just turn the knob on the front and the alarm shuts off until the next morning. Want to disarm it for the whole weekend, push in the alarm switch in back. Still not enough? How about an illuminated, dimmable lamp inside? The movement was ultrasonically cleaned and lubed with good, synthetic clock oil. The Telechron rotor is good (not silent) and the clock keeps time perfectly. Convex glass crystal. Brass hardware. The bell alarm trips on time and works perfectly. Some paint loss to steel front case. Only damage is a repair to the right, front foot. (It's always something, isn't there?) Cord is a repro, rayon dealie along with the original, GE plug. Aside from the the cord, and probably the rotor, all correct and original.Made in USA (Ashland, MA)--not Chinese junk! Why am I selling it? I have 2 and I just don't have the room.
