HOMER LAUGHLIN PLATE
The 1939 New York World's Fair was the second largest American World's Fair of all time. It's opening slogan was "Dawn of a New Day". This handsome Art Deco styled souvenir plate features the Trylon and Perisphere in the central design, various other buildings are featured in the border. Simple gold line accents on the border. Predominate color is lavendar. Clearly marked in gold on the back "Decoration by Charles Murphy, 150 th ANNIVERSARY INAUGURATION of GEORGE WASHINGTON as FIRST PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES 1789 - 1939". Marked in green; "HOMER LAUGHLIN", "Made in U.S.A.".
Plate measures 10" diameter.
Clean, no chips, cracks or hairlines. Two tiny specks of gold missing on the edge border of the plate.
