1940\'s Lifton acoustic guitar case Martin Gibson:

I purchased a 1948 Gibson j-50 and this case came with the guitar. I do not believe the case is original to the guitar but it is period original. I have done some checking on a couple different Facebook and website pages to confirm the age of the case to be from the 40s. According to the information I have found the case could have been with a Martin or Gibson acoustic or archtop guitar. I believe at one time the case did house an archtop as there is somewhere on the top of the case that would coincide with that type of bridge found on an archtop. I have had four or five guys interested in the case to house their 40s Martin guitar. I figured it was easier just to list it on so pictures could be seen questions could be answered and make it easier for everyone. The case is in good condition for its age. It does show wear, it does show scuffs and the latch by the handle is broken please see photos. The other three latches work fine. The case does not stink however I have not cleaned it since I purchase the j-50. I am leaving the dust on it for the new owner. I have included two pictures, one of the j-50 they came in the case and one of my Gibson dove so you can see how each bodied guitar fits the case. Guitars are not included of course
The outside dimensions of the case are 42 1/2 inches long 18 in wide at the widest point and 6 1/4 inches deep.
