This vintage \"CAMP DRAKE JAPAN MILITARY POLICE\" jacket was made in Occupied Japan probably sometime between 1945 - 1950.In 1945 Camp Drake became the headquarters for the 1st Calvary Division of the United States Army and was also an USAAF base. Camp Drake was located 20 miles northeast of Tokyo. This \"MILITARY POLICE\" jacket is a rare survivor from Occupied Japan. The jacket is reversible, one side is black & white with white dragons and the opposite side is green and yellow with crossed pistols on the back. The jacket is either silk or rayon with silk hand embroidery. The collar, the bottom of the jacket and the ends of the sleeves are all wool (black on one side and green on the other). The jacket appears to be about a mens\' size 40. The jacket does need some restoration, it is coming apart on some of the seams, but this can be easily repaired. The collar needs some re-stitching as well. The zipper works well and the pockets are intact. The only real damage is the wool at the ends of the sleeves which is worn beyond repair. It would have to be replaced. This is a rare survivor in good overall condition! As with all my items I am starting this sale at $9.99 with !
