Up for your consideration is this very RARE & ORIGINAL ONE THE JULEAN DISPATCH NEWSPAPER WRITTEN BY JAPANESE IN THE NEWELL CALIFORNIA INTERNMENT CAMP. THE PAPER IS VOL. 7, NO. 19 ISSUED OCTOBER 26, 1943 NEAR THE CLOSE OF THE CAMP. THE NEWSPAPER IS SIX PAGES (SOME ARE PRINTED FRONT AND BACK) AND RECORDS THE EVENTS OF THE INTERNMENT CAMP INCLUDING SOFTBALL, BASKETBALL, CHURCH SERVICES, BIRTHS, LOST & FOUND CHINESE IMMIGRATION BILL, AND OTHER ARTICLES AND INFORMATION. THEN ON THE BACK PAGES THEY ARE PRINTED IN THE JAPANESE PRINT. THIS NEWELL CALIFORNIA AREA WAS USED IN WWII AS AN INTERNMENT CAMP FOR 2 YEARS WITH AS MANY AS 17,000 JAPANESE STAYING THERE. The news paper/Letter is definitely very presentable. Overall condition is great! It has been stored in a stack of other internment camp papers for many years there are a few slight wear marks thru out the news pacemaker from use back in the day but still very nice. Please study the photos and judge for yourself. This is a very Kool piece of CALIFORNIA- AMERICAN / JAPANESE HISTORY for your collection to your show your Buddies all your KOOL old WWII mementos!
