This is an original 1946 Dooling Brothers(Los Angeles, California) Model F Tether Car with its Hornet 60 ignition tethercar engine, struts, exhaust, coil, fuel tank, and inboard miniature wet-cellbattery. The body is solid high-polish magnesium (conditioned to retainshine) and has no paint, just a few \"Dooling\" and \"Hornet\"water slide decals. I believe all of the parts (except the tether ties) areoriginal and in very nice shape. The engine is low-time and turnssmoothly with the wheels and has powerful compression and the gearbox anddogbone/flywheel are in excellent condition. I did not test the coil, butI observed the car is wired correctly between the battery/switch/coil and ChampionVR1 spark plug. The miniature battery iscertainly no longer functional, but completes a nice electrical display. All four tires are still soft and the frontsare labeled Dooling Brothers. This car measures about 16 inches long byabout 8.5 inches wide by about 6.75 inches high and weighs in at 6 pounds(unboxed). This is a handsome original example of the Dooling Bros ModelF, and in excellent mechanical condition, and if you are looking for one ofthese for your American tether car collection you will be happy!
