1950 Singer 66 Centennial Sewing Machine - Fully Serviced:
This model 66 was born on June 13, 1950. It has been completely serviced and tuned and produces a beautiful straight stitch at all stitch lengths. This service included motor disassembly, lubrication, motor brush reconditioning, armature polishing, and a new motor belt. The bobbin case has been disassembled, cleaned, and the bobbin tension adjusted. The top tension mechanism has been disassembled, cleaned, and adjusted. The top and bobbin tension has been balanced and the hook timing has been set and is in proper adjustment. All moving mechanisms, feed dogs, and rotating assemblies have been cleaned, oiled, and adjusted for proper adjustment. The wiring for the motor and foot controller has been replaced. The foot controller has been disassembled and adjusted for smooth operation.
The body of the machine has been cleaned by hand. The crinkle finish is in very good condition except for some light wear on the leading edge of the bed plate and a few chips on the stitch length lever and the bobbin winder assembly… please see photos. I consider these defects minor on a 69 year old sewing machine. The singer logo decal is faint, as is the bedplate decal, this is typical for machines with a crinkle finish and is not damaged or worn off. The nickel plated parts are in very good condition.
Overall and in consideration of its age and operation, I consider this machine to be in excellent condition. Please refer to photos for overall condition. I have tried to show detail of condition in the photos. Please contact me if you have any questions or would like to know more information.
I take shipping sewing machines seriously, they are susceptible to damage if not properly prepared for shipping. I know this from my experience where a very nice example of a machine was poorly packed and damaged during shipping, sometimes reducing the value of the machine to "for parts or repair" condition. I assure you that this will not happen to this machine. This machine will be carefully packaged, wrapped, and secured from shifting in shipping, and insured. I do not cut corners for cost. For this and other reasons, I do not accept returns or offer refunds.
The cost of shipping you pay is the cost of shipping I pay. I do not add any additional cost for packing and handling, all of this expense is borne by me and included in the price.
Thank you for looking and consideration of purchasing this fine vintage sewing machine.
