Mid century modern, hand finished, satiny, textured black acrylic. Black Grainware was invented/designed by Charles H. McCrea in 1950 and is in the collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York. In excellent vintage condition, minimal use, durable and elegant. Original, silver foil label on the bottom includes washing instructions and says: "Grainware, brings new elegance to the home, Made in Redwood City, California". This dish dates from the 1950's. Very substantial, not lightweight like modern plastics
