1950s Pedigree Clockwork Walking Doll In Original Outfit:
This is a wonderful item as it is in such lovely condition. It is a 14" hard plastic clockwork walking / toddling doll made by Pedigree in the early 1950's. A boy and a girl were made...this is the boy version with the moulded hair. The girl version had a wig.
He comes with his original Lines bros /Trianglarge key, which fits into the dolls back. When wound up he toddles along with a swaying side to side movement. The feet on these dolls are large for balance and stability, and the heads are fixed tothe neck, and do not move so as not to overbalance the doll. He is weighted and balanced beautifully, and when fully wound just seems to keep on walking for ever!!
He comes dressed in his original Pedigree labelled romper suit, which ideally could do with a gentle wash to liven it up a bit. Both poppers work well.
The eyes open and close freely and he retains all his eyelashes. He also has two little top teeth. The facial colouring is superb with a lovely rosy complexion. The moulded hair has no paint loss.
The doll has no damage, no splits or cracks and no nasty odours or evidence of Hard Plastic Disease.
It really is one of the best versions I have seen of these hard to find PLEASE NOTE I NOW ONLY ACCEPT PAYPAL AS PAYMENT

*** I have been asked what the mark is around the left wrist. It is only the string tied aroundit that the key was attached to. There is no problem with either wrist***On 10-Mar-13 at 11:47:51 GMT, seller added the following information:
*** I have also been asked about the fixed head,as someone has one with a moveable head. This doll's head is firmly fixed to the neck. I presumed they made them like this to stop the head moving when the doll walks. The arms are strung acrosswith the original elastic band stringing, but it does not go up to attach to the head. This is how the doll has always been since I bought it.All I can do is list it as I see it. I don't have another doll like it to compare it with.***
