1953 Massachusetts Governor Front License Plate 53 Ma Mass Shield Tag C. Herter For Sale
In 1952 Christian Herter was elected Governor of Massachusetts and served til 1956. The Korean War was still going on and the State only supplied a single plate for 1953. This Mass Shield plate was made for the front of the Governors official car. The rear of the car would have carried the traditional "S1" plate which number was reserved for use on the sitting Governor's official car. That "S1" plate is offered in another of my sales along with some other great plates. A solid plate with a nice cast Shield. It is used and shows some paint loss and a few dings. See Picture.
