Check#927 is written from Lucy & Desi\'smerchandising checking account. Written for $8.02 to Shaw-Walker. Dated October 19, 1954.Desi Arnaz & Lucille Ballchecking account was held at the Hollywood Main Office branch of BANK OF AMERICA at 6333 Hollywood Boulevard.

The Shaw-Walker furniture company was founded byLouis Carlisle Walker (1875 - 1963). Walker was an 1896 graduate of the University of Michigan. His company wouldrevolutionize the office furniture industry. His success was matched only by hisgenerosity and the L.C. Walker Arena in Muskegon, Michigan stands as a testament to his commitment to community... built in 1960 with over one million dollars from the Walker family.

Check is signed by Lucy & Desi\'s business director at Desilu Productions, Andrew Hickox (this name was also used as a character in \"I Love Lucy\"; Mr. Hickox was the accountant who tried to hold Lucy to a budget!). Also signed by Martin Leeds, General Counsel for Desilu. Written from their offices at the Hollywood Professional Building... noting their office phone number: HO 9-2281. This would be the same building where Ronald Reagan once served aspresident of the Screen Actors Guild (1947 - 1953).

Provenance: item was subsequently obtained and preserved from the estate of Milt Josefsberg (Jack Benny\'s head writer, 1968 Emmy Award nominee for \"The Lucy Show\", and 1978 Emmy Award winning producer for \"All in the Family\").Very goodcondition with bank stamps & cancellation; check is 3\" x 8.25\".
