This is a rare 1954 Chevy Police Car by Marusan in really nice working & All Original condition. The car measures 11"(30cm.,) long and sits perfectly level. The underside has Marusan and Kosuge embossed on it/s shiny surface. The driver and his partner are mint. The car is in amazing working condition with an antiseptic battery box as shown.
From what I see there are no dings or dents or scuffs .There is a scratch on the outside of the battery box as well as what appears to be two minor factory touch ups which I have just noticed. There are very few spider marks on the shinning underside ,however they must be mentioned . An occasional tiny chip can be noted on the hood divider . There is a touch up on the corner of the roof support, and a tiny spot on the roof edge above the center column which divides the front and rear seats . They could be factory ,however doubtful . There is a tiny dab that exists on the rear quarter panel , however it is tiny and just on the right of the hood ornament. Some of the red lithography on the wheels center is also worn . The front windshield looks great with only a hairline scratch and very,very,slight age warp. There is a narrow strip (shown in a photo,) on the rear windshield that must be a short cut by the manufacturer as it is not shrinkage. Please note that the window trim on this car is correct as it is a shade of brown and not chrome.
There is plating on the right rear quarter panel curve in front of the tire that is worn brown and smooth . All of the tires and white rims are close to mint .
As this is a rare find in such wonderful working condition I have to be critical as it is expensive as shown in the last photo which is just over ten years old by Schiffer . In my eleven years on this is only the fifth one of this model I have seen and two of them are presently listed if you wish to compare.
Most sellers would grade this as mint , however it does have the aforementioned flaws . The front wheels turn manually ,with the rooftop red light as shown in working order . The rear gears turn one wheel forward with a lot of power for a few seconds and then it rests for awhile and cycles again . This car was meant to travel only forward and I guess the shrill of the motors noise is the siren. Please note that I test these cars with New batteries and the battery lid must be closed securely.
Carefull packing will be done , however I cannot guarantee a battery operated vehicle of this age during it/s journey to you.
Anything can loosen a wire during shipping no matter howI take care in packing.
