1955 Hotpoint Appliance 50th Anniversary Spinner Token Coin - Gold Toned Metal:
This original spinner token (or coin) was issued by Hotpoint appliances in 1955 during the company's 50th anniversary celebration. The side with the spinner 'dimple' bears the Hotpoint symbol and the company name plus the phrase First with the Finest for Fifty Years! On the other side is the company name, the word Anniversary and the number 50 superimposed across the center, and the dates 1905-1955 at the bottom. Between the years is the arrow for the spinner 'function' - of course to determine which person bought the next round of drinks, who got to kiss whom, or whatever the spinner was used for! The token is composed of an unknown non-ferrous metal and has a gold-toned finish. The token is approximately 1-1/4" in diameter, and it has a plain edge.
This item is in very good condition, with very light wear. As can be seen in the photos, the side with the large '50' is darker than the other side, which remains a bright gold color.
The illustrations in this listingare photos of the actual item being offered for sale. PLEASE NOTE: The item remains brighter on both sides than is apparent in the photos.
