\"SATURDAY\'S TOYS Presents...\" a vintage photo, with Disneyland backstamp, as originally sold at Jimmy Starr\'s \"Show Business in Disneyland\" shop... featuring Elizabeth Taylor.

Here, Elizabeth Taylor is photographed in a Hollywood glamour pin-up photo... not unlike the pose of her competition, Marilyn Monroe, in \"River of No Return\" (1954).

The souvenir shop \"Show Business in Hollywood\" debuted in early 1956 and featured Hollywood souvenirs and collectibles as well as a display of historic movie memorabilia.  The photos sold in the shop, such as these, each had a backstamp detailing that the photo came from a \"private collection\" (namely, that of Jimmy Starr).  As a leading Hollywood columnist, Starr had access to the top photographers and press agents in Hollywood and had no shortage of photos to offer in his shop.  In fact, Starr once had one of the largest private Hollywood memorabilia collections known at that time.  Provided by MGM studio press agents for promotional purposes throughout the country; then made available through newspaper columnist Jimmy Starr to his shop inside Disneyland.

Elizabeth Taylor was a guest at Disneyland on several occasions throughout her lifetime; first with Eddie Fisher and her sons... and later even in 1992 to celebrate her 60th Birthday with her then-husband, Larry Fortensky (notably, before he and Liz met at a treatment center, Fortensky was a resident of Anaheim... living only a short distance from Disneyland... just off Ball Road in West Anaheim).

Very good condition; with faint original back stamp on reverse of photo.  Bottom margin of photo notes faintly: \"Elizabeth Taylor - Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer  6686\"

Included with the vintage photograph offered here... are a recent copy of the floor plan for the Town Square Opera House that shows the 252 square foot shop that was leased by Jimmy Starr from 1956 thru 1959.  However, the shop wasn\'t necessarily the best location for shopping; somewhat separated from the rest of Main Street, U.S.A.  As no attraction was slated for the Opera House in those early years, many Disneyland guests had a tendency to hurry past the store en route for the wonders that awaited on the other end of Main Street.  In addition, a recent 3-page copy of Disneyland\'s 1956 correspondence (from Lessee and Exhibitor Liaison, Bud Coulson) with Jimmy Starr is also included; outlining the types of displays and merchandise that would be allowed within the store.

A fascinating view into the early years of merchandising at Disneyland... and a surprise appearance from one of Hollywood\'s most enduring stars... \"La Liz\"... Elizabeth Taylor..
