Offered for sale is a rare original 1961 Color Portrait photograph inscribed, dated, and signed by President John F. Kennedy. The matte measures 11x14 inches. The photo has been beautifully inscribed in Kennedy\'s hand:

\"To Edith and Bill Heffernan - with the esteem and warm regards of this old friend - John Kennedy - August 31st 1961\"

Edith was the Secretary to Congressman William Bates of the 6th district of Massachusetts, whom JFK graciously gifted this signed photo. Kennedy worked with Edith and William Bates during his time as Congressman of the11th district of Massachusetts, prior to becoming Senator, then President. Photographer Louis Fabian Bachrach captured this photo of the President in Washington, DC. This sitting formal portrait of JFK with the American Flag in the background, became an official portrait of his presidency. The photo is labeled/signed \'Bachrach\' in the bottom right corner.
