1961 Rose Bowl Program Featuring The Washington Huskies And Minnesota Gophers:
The Husky football team upset Wisconsin in the 1960 Rose Bowl and were up to the task the following year against powerhouse Minnesota. Final score on Jan. 2, 1961, was 17-7.
Minnesota's squad featured Bobby Bell, the defensive end who played 11 seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs from 1963 to 1974, including Super Bowl IV, and was three times a Pro-Bowler and Football Hall of Famer. His photo is inside. The Huskies, under Jim Owens, had many returning stars from the 1959 team, including the half-blind quarterback Bob Schloredt, end Lee Folkins and halfback Don McKeta.
This is a clean copy. The only blemishes are the name of the former owner at the top of the cover, an almost indistinguishable tear on the side of the cover, and of course two rusted staples holding the 56 pages together, an indefensible result of aging.
A newspaper about the game is included.
