Ears of Wheat and a Blannk Ribbon (bottom center)and reads "IRISH CHANNEL ST. PATRICK'S PARADE...NEW mm or1 1/2" Payment due within 48 hours of doubloon was designed by H. Alvin Sharpe, the creator of the Mardi Gras doubloon, and bears his familiar 'HAS' initials. These Special Irish Channel St. Patrick's Day Parade doubloons were made in 1961, then 1966 through 1993. The Irish Channel is a New Orleans neighborhood settled predominantly by Irish immigrants and celebrates its pround Irish heritage every year on St. Patrick's Day. The MGD&CM Guide lists this doubloon at $8.00.
