1968 Chicago Seed Yippie Benefit Ticket. Underground Newspaper. Jay Lynch Comix:
I found this in an old cigar box. Back in 1968, when I was doing cartoons for the Chicago SEED newspaper, someone must have given me this ticket to a benefit they put on for the YIPPIES ( Youth International Party ), whom you might remember from the police riots at the 1968 Democratic National Convention back then. On the back of the ticket is a secret mystical image of Kilroy. Some tickets had this on em. I don't know who drew the Kilroy pic there in pencil... And I forgot what it meant that these special Kilroy tickets entitled one to. I am pretty sure I didn't BUY this ticket, as a buck fifty was a lot of money back then. One of the corners is slightly bent, as you can see in the pictures. No ticket to this event has ever showed up for collectors before...and certainly none of these special tickets with the hand-drawn image of Kilroy on the back has ever been seen since then, I don't think. I bet this is the only one of it's kind that survives from back then. It's a historical item, that's for sure! This is a three day sale. Immediate payment is required. Thanks, ---Jay Lynch
