"This History has now become the standard work on the subject. All branches of the Army - horse, foot, artillery, supply, regulars and volunteers - are dealt with; exact details of dress and equipment, and their development from reign to reign, with more accuracy than ever before, are given in both the very attractive drawings - of which there have been around two hundred in each volume - and in the descriptive text." - Flyleaf
