1969 First Montreal Expos Game & Win Franchise History Used Ticket Stub @ Mets:
This is a ticket stub to the 4/8/69 baseball game between the Montreal Expos and the New York Mets at Shea Stadium. The Mets open the 1969 season by facing the expansion Montreal Expos. In the Expos first game in franchise history they defeat the Mets 11-10 in a wild back and fourth game. The Mets entered the 9th inning trailing by five runs but on the strength of a Duffy Dyer three run pinch hit home run the Mets rallied in the 9th inning but fell one run short. Tom Seaver started the game but Cal Koonce suffered the loss. It is the Mets 8th consecutive opening day loss. The 1969 Mets would become the "Miracle Mets" and win the World Series. The 1969 Montreal Expos would lose 110 games and endure a 20 game losing streak. Very rare stub from first Expos game, first Expos win and first "international" game played in MLB history.
