1972-d Ike Dollar, Impressive Double-struck Mint Error, Anacs Ms-63 For Sale
This is perhaps the most amazing Eisenhower Dollar striking error that I have ever seen. The second strike happened to be positioned perfectly so that the second date spans the jaw and neck of the first strike, producing a coin with two 100% full dates and mint marks. ANACS graded it very conservatively at MS-63. The color is grayish-golden due to some hazy (but light and even) toning. It has full luster, with no trace of any "hairlines" or "rub" anywhere. It is remarkably free of contact marks. These types of errors frequently get caught in the minting and counting machinery and become damaged as a result. Not so with this example. The closest thing like this to have sold in the past was another 1972-D Eisenhower Dollar double-strike. It was graded MS-62 and brought $6,325 in a 2007 Heritage sale. That coin did not have two full dates. In fact, neither date on that coin was full, although both "72" were visible. The last picture shows a screen capture of that other sale, which can also be seen at this link: 1972-D Ike $ Double-Struck, 2007 Heritage sale . The coin in this sale is the ANACS-certified MS63 example, with first strike normal and a second strike about 30% off-center to the north.
I am currently selling a few very special coins to raise funds for my business. Some are certified, while some others are not due to time contstraints. Regardless, there is a full return priviledge either way.sale Terms:

Important Note: Because most of my sales have and a low starting offer, I reserve the right to void this sale if the web site is not functioning properly (due to any reason other than regularly scheduled weekly maintenance) for a significant portion of the duration of this sale. This also applies to any related image hosting site. A "significant portion" is defined as 25% or more of the entire duration, or at any time during the last 5 hours. Fortunately, that has never happened, and I have never canceled an sale for that reason.
