1974 Martin D-18 Vintage Guitar Excellent Player, Original Case, Neck Perfect For Sale
I am selling this wonderful Martin D-18 player because I just don't use it and it's a shame to keep it and not have a need for it anymore. I bought it about 15 years ago because I fell in love with the rich tone that it generates, and that's still true to this day. It's almost 40 years old now and the wood has mellowed into an awesome springboard for solid, rich-toned guitar playing. I used it for gigs and also did a bit of recording with it. The neck is straight and true and I just played some open chords in the 12th to 14th fret positions and the intonation is perfect all the way up the neck. The guitar has always been kept in a clean, smoke-free Environment. The case is rugged and clean inside with a few scuffs on the outside of the hard case.
The list price for a brand-new D-18 is hundreds more than this mellowed, 40 year old model. I love the old players myself, hopefully you will, too.
Please note that the guitar is not perfect; it has been played and I am not trying to pass it off as a museum piece. There are some surface marks on the face from strumming. An edge of the pickguard has risen up a bit but I do not see bellying under the bridge. As I mentioned, the guitar, when tuned, keeps its intonation all the way up the neck. The strings are at a minimal height at the 12th fret. At some point one of the tuning pegs broke and it was replaced with the correct replacement.
The pictures accurately reflect the condition of this really wonderful old guitar.
