DESCRIPTION: Offered to you is this 19th century 1850s antique French cupping set. It features a marked glass cup connected to a bronze vacuum syringe pump. Pump is made of solid bronze with authentic age patina. Cupping therapy is a form of alternative medicine in which a local suction is created on the skin. Practitioners believe this mobilizes blood flow in order to promote healing. Suction is created using heat (fire) or mechanical devices (pumps). For condition see photos. Pump length: 12 inches.
