19C FRENCH BRONZE YOUNG MAN W/ SWORD & HELMET EN TRIONI PARIS SALON 1895 NoResrv
listing is for a late 19th French century bronze of a young man with a sword and helmet. It measures 20 1/4 inches or 51.5 cm high. The base measures 6 ¾ inches 17 cm wide at the front of base.
The bronze shows a young man with only a tunic around his waist with large belt. He holds in one hand a large sword and in the other his helmet decorated with laurel leaves. Although young, he has a proud and knowing look on his face. The bronze has a milk chocolate brown patina or color, which is all original to the piece. At the front of the bronze is a plaque which reads “EN TRIONI” in partial. Below this is “SALON DES BEAUX-ARTS PARIS 1895”. The back of the bronze has a foundry mark “BRONZE GARANTI AU TITRE PARIS”.
The condition of the bronze is very good condition. There are only minor variations to the patina, and slight verdigris on the base by his feet. Please see the many photographs.
