Large 19th Century wooden hand painted game board believed to be of French Canadian origin. It measures 19\" wide, 24 7/8\" long by 5/8\" thick. It has bread board ends secured with square nails. I am unsure of the game that would have been played on it. There is surface wear throughout and the paint has faded but the playing field is still visible. A note about AAFA: AAFA stands for Antique Americana &Folk Art. I am pleased to be among a select group of invited sellers whospecialize in the sale of antiques, primitives and folk art. Not all of theitems I sell meet the AAFA criteria, so be assured that I will apply the AAFAtag only when it is appropriate to do so. When you see AAFA in an item title,it should mean that the item is a true unenhanced antique and not a “vintage”,altered, or newly crafted piece. There are some unauthorized sellers whoare applying the AAFA banner without permission to items that do not meet ourcriteria. I see this on a daily basis despite polite reminders from authorizedsellers. Reproductions, even good ones, have NO PLACE under an AAFA listing,Sellers who do this are trying to capitalize on a reputation and client basethat we have attempted to build over the past 4 years. Before offerding on an“AAFA” item, please read the seller’s description carefully, (be wary ofwording like, “AAFA Like”, “AntiqueLike” or “antique style“), and review their response. We are working tochallenge any false use of “AAFA”.
