The Original Hand Painted Poster promoting the first public demonstration of the Telephone by Alexander Graham Bell in 1877.
The first public demonstration of the telephone occurred on Monday February 12th, 1877 at Lyceum Hall in Salem, Massachusetts. The event was sponsored by the Essex Institute. A detailed written account of the events of this day are available in "The Bulletin of The Essex Institute", Vol 9. pgs 21-28. This is the authentic and original poster used to advertise the public demonstration.
Measures: 40.5" tall x 28" wide.
