19th C. Early Pa Painted Pine Apple Tray Gathering Box, Canted Sides, C. 1880:
An early Pennsylvania or New England painted pine apple tray or gathering box, C. 1880. This early apple box has its original salmon paint & retains a wonderful surface & patina. The color on this early tray is exceptional, completely untouched with no repairs or touch-ups. This early apple tray or gathering box is made of pine with canted sides & early round nail construction. It measures 17" long, 6 5/8" deep on the top, 5" tall & 4 5/8" deep on the bottom. There are areas of wear & a very tight age crack on the bottom (see pictures), there are no major damages & no repairs.Anoutstanding piece of earlyAmericana & folk art, offered with !
