DESCRIPTION: We are pleased to offer this wonderful pair of Victorian late 19th century Chinese green jadeite with 24k and 14kt yellow gold cufflinks. The jade section of each cufflink is set in Chinese 24K gold and hallmarked as such. The bean backs and stems are 14K gold and likely added when the faces were exported to America. Victorian jewelers wouldimportexotic pieces from Asia to sell to their customers in the Western market.

The color of the jade is beautiful. The jadeite is a lovely green. One of the jade pieces is very even in coloring and the other has a slight dark spot or tea (translucent light brownish) color spot on the face anddarkened corner on theedge. This the natural coloration of the jade. The tea color spot is faint, as is the dark area but can be seen in the pictures. The color of the jade is stable underChelseafilters.

They are in greatantiquecondition. Each is fully hallmarked with both the Chinese characters for 24K and the American 14KT. We have left these in untouched condition. We do not try to over clean our goods as some collectors want untouched patina.Any little white spots in the pictures are just from the camera and lights.

CONDITION: Very good condition. The occasional expected sign of age, light scratch etc. There is a tiny possible chip in the 7 o’clock position. It maybe just part of the carving of the leaves on the edge or possibly caused during original setting. Minute but mentioned for accuracy. Slight separation of lip band from shank. Fully stable and again only mentioned for accuracy. No other unexpected wear or flaws to note.
