Here we have a beautiful large 19th Century Grandfather Longcase Clock Case.This does have a few issues;The Central Hood Finial support has been replaced at some point (approximately the top inch).The Lock has its Key but this is not an original Lock more likely a Cabinet Lock.The Backboard has extensive old woodworm holes, also a small amount on front and Hood (small enough to count),there was no sign of life however to be safe this has all been treated inside and out with Rentokil Wax which will also protect.This has a short door which is inserted into the case and not beading.The Hood is decorated withgilt metal appliqué,The Jumping Fox Finial I believe is gilded Bronze but could be Brass and gives the Case a great look,This is a top class very tall solid case.Total height 226cm, width 45cm, depth 22cm.Face opening width 24.5cm, height to bottom of Arch 24.5cm, total height 35cm, Arch width 20.5cm.
This will be very carefully packaged in a custom built crate for a safe journey to the winning buyer.
