19th.cOriginal Folk Art Oil Painting Portrait of a Civil War or GAR (Grand Army of the Republic) Soldier. Framed behind glass so oil painting appears to be on wood board. Unsigned folk art painting. Has an American Flag & water - mountain-scape in background. Painting measures approximately 10\" x 12\" & framed 13-3/8\" x 15-3/8\". Condition is original & good. There is what appears to be the remnants of a gold leaf paint line, in the form of an arch, at the top of the painting (see last two pictures). It may have been to outline the top of the painting? Frame has gold paint losses to the inner frame. Outside frame has usual use wear. Please view the pictures. Shipping toUS, Canada & Englandonly.
