Today we are offering an absolutely beautiful Victorian c.1887 CRANBERRY RED Glass and Brass Hanging PULL DOWN Oil Lamp. The glass shade is stunning in a DIAMOND OPTIC Pattern that is in excellent condition and it rests in aBrassRepousse Base. The light is held by two chains that are looped through metal pulleys in the Brass Canopy which hangs from a ceiling hook. The light hangs approximately 28\" from the ceiling hook with a brass canopy (photo #11) of 3 1/2\" in diameter.The Cranberry optic glass has a 4\" diameter brass top collar (photo #10) where the chains hook. The shade measures approximately 8\" high (not counting the 2\" brass collar) by 8\" in diameter at the widest. There are two small chips on the bottom fitter of the glass shade and cannot be seen when in the brass base. The brassbaseholder (see photo #8) measures 5\" in diameter and 31/2\" deep and decorated with pyramid shapes, diamonds and circles.Included is the oil lamp which may not be the original but was with the lamp when I purchased it. The burner is marked QUEEN ANNE and the stem wick turner is marked Made in America with a Star. The glass font is 2\" tall, 3 1/2\" in diameter and has 3 horizontal ribs. Oil lamp measures 10 1/2\" to the top of the hurricane shade. The brass collar of font was secured with cement and there is a small chip out its\' metal collar. There is minimal age wear to all the metal parts of this lamp only some white oxidation (no rust) to the brass.Maker unknown but is in the style of B. & H.This is a stunning ceiling lamp for a foyer, parlor, library and certainly will be the talk of any room.
